Maillons are mainly used by climbers as a cheap alternative to a 'bail biner'. ie to be left behind when abseiling instead of a more expensive karabiner. Please note that these Maillons are not formally sold as PPE. We sell PPE maillons under a separate entry. Galvanised Steel is cheaper than stainless but not so corrosion resistant.
