Targasonne is one of the finest European bouldering areas. Sat in the heart of the French Pyrenées close to Andorra the high altitude means the conditions are often excellent, even in summer. As the bouldering is on a generally south facing hillside even in winter bouldering is possible, even after snowfall . Some of the 'problems' here would be routes on the grit, bring pads, lots of pads.
Fred Bertin's new book is made with the heart and humour of an enthusiastic boulderer. Liberally illustrated, photos give an overall impression of the area and the climbing while cartoons lighten the mood. Detailed information about the problems ithemselves (height, landing, kind of climbing and many more) ensure you'll have fun, and plenty to argue about in the evenings. Sketch maps help you to find your way in this spread out and complex area.
