Alpen en Bloc Vol 1 is the first part of a new 2 volume set from Panico. The alpine foothills provide a beautiful summer arena for the boulderer. Small (and sometimes large) cliffs in beautiful scenery: bouldering in the mountains combines athletic climbing, unspoilt nature and good times with friends. The new guide in two volumes presents the best spots from Bern to Vienna: the usual technique of maps and photo-topos guide you to the areas and problems. The majority of the text is in German, each area has an information panel, with all you need, in English. This guide also has interviews (in German) with Toni Lamprecht, Bernd Zangerl, Ueli Gygax, Barbara Zangerl and Allesandro Gandolfo; all people who have helped develop and popularise the areas.
