The 4000m Peaks of the Alps from The Alpine Club is a modern practical guide to the Alpine 4000metre peaks. Together with the 50 major summits, every significant subsidiary summit is visited by one or more decribed route. Over 230 of these routes are described, from beginners' tours on the Breithorn and Allalinhorn to Grandes Courses like the Peuterey Ridge of Mont Blanc.
Grades run from Facile (F) to Difficile (sup) (D+/TD-).
As well as the valley bases, huts and hut approaches are described in detail, so that peak baggers can easily plan and execute their 4000m campaign. Authored by Martin Moran, a man with a bit of experience in peak bagging, and alpinism.
